Dating Sucks

While working with clients and speaking with many other people. Based on what they’ve shared, the dating process sucks. It’s a virtual stink-bomb.  There are various reasons why they feel this way. To name a few:

• Dishonesty
• Inconsistency
• Incompatibility
• Unrealistic Expectations
• Finances
• Emotional Baggage
• Confusion
• Communication
• Understanding
• Drama

My Take On Dating

Yes, dating has changed over the past 20 years. The roles women and men had traditionally played have changed. In addition, you have more people who lean towards conventional dating vs. traditional dating.  Dating multiple people, and using the process of elimination, vs. dating one person, investing all your eggs into one basket.

No matter what your preferred style is, you must find someone who shares the same views as you.  In so many cases, people are dating, and they are not compatible.  They invest in these, “romantic” feelings, and pass them off as the basis for their newfound relationship. This is a common mistake by man daters.

Listen More, Talk Less

In a recent Facebook poll. Women and men were polled about who talks more during the dating process.  The overwhelming winner of this poll was women.

Women stated that they talk more than the men, and listen less. The men stated that women don’t listen, so they just stop talking and shutdown.  Yet, another common mistake made by daters, as well as, people currently in a relationship.
